Andrea Dreste A Dreste Overseas 22 June xxxx – Korea 2

KOREA+REPUBLIC+OF

So I made it to Korea finally and in one piece.  The flight was 14 hours long.  I flew from St. Louis to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Korea.  Leaving home was the hardest thing I ever did.  I don’t think I have ever cried as much as I did and I think the people at the airport thought I was having a nervous break down.  What happen was my dad called to say he loves me and I could hear his voice cracking which made me sad.  See I’ve only ever seen my dad cry twice in my life but the day I left he cried and hard.  I never expected that leaving would be this dificult.

Anyways, like I said the flight was long.  I had two little kids sitting behind me, Mr. Swave to my right, by the window, and military boy on my left.  I did not sleep a wink on my flight because every time I tried the kids would start kicking my seat or Mr. Swave would pretend to accidentlly bump me.  Then when I would look at him he would say, “Oh, I’m sorry it was an accident,” and  then rub my arm or touch my hair.  I believed him the first couple of time but it seemed that he would only do it when I wasn’t paying attention to him.  Also if I wanted to sleep I couldn’t because Mr. Swave thought it was nice to lean into my seat.  It wasn’t like I wasn’t already squashed in the middle or anything.  Ugh!

So when we landed in Korea I was terified about getting around the airport.  Oh, I forgot to mention that I brought two carry ons, one that wieghed thrity pounds and three large suitcases.  The military boy also know as Eric had already been to Korea so he helped me out.  I don’t know what I would have done without him! He got me where I needed to be and even waited for all my luggage to come through the convaier belt.  Mine took about twenty minutes to come through and he picked his up the moment we walked up to the machine.  He piled all of my luggage on a cart and helped find customs.  When I got there the lady looked at me, looked at my lugage, and said, “You can go.” I don’t think she wanted to take the time looking through all of my stuff.

From there my director picked me up from the airport and took me to the school.  He said that I was the first teacher to bring that much stuff!!  The school is awsome!  They have a garden out back with all organic vegtables that we are free to take.  The boards are made of glass which is nice because they seem to stay cleaner.  (All of you teachers know what I’m talking about!)  There are golf, tiquando, ballet, and music classes.  The whole school is just beautiful!  I will take some picture this week to show all of you.

I work with four ESL teachers Justine from South Africa, Angus from Canada, Daniel from New Zealand, and Dave from New Jersey.  They are all very nice.  Each of them have takin the time to show me around.  Everyones favorite place to take me has been the Korean BBQ’s.  I have eaten Korean BBQ three time in a week and I have to say it is one of the only foods I like so far.

Well I hope everyone had a good fourth and that you enjoy my pictures of my forth.  I miss all of you and can’t wait to hear what you have been doing as well.

By the way Eickhoff… Happy Birthday!!!  Sorry I wont be there:-(

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and amusing,
and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head.

The problem is something not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy that I stumbled across this during my search
    for something regarding this.
